Italy is among the leading countries in the field of scientific research in robotics (among the first in the world for the number of citations per publication), but this wealth of knowledge is mostly limited to the academic world.
As an ALTAIR robotics laboratory, we believe that the time is ripe to transform this knowledge potential into an industrial drive with a high social impact. The poles of robotics companies are emerging and technology transfer is growing, but are communities and people ready for this change?
Aging of the population, lack of skilled labor, sustainable mobility, digital health are just some of the great issues that await us and that will have an effect on the daily life of each of us, not only from an economic point of view, but also from a social and ethical point of view.
We believe that adult education and continuing education can lead to an informed and sensitive community, able to refine the tools to understand their time and be a protagonist in it. Alongside the traditional teaching and research missions, the Third University Mission is in fact concerned with promoting mutual exchange and development between the University and the local area, and this is what we hope to do with these meetings.
